30-30 Club
The
"30-30 club" refers to players who hit 30 or more home runs
and who steal 30 or more bases in a single season. Before Willie Mays,
this rare display of both power and speed had only been done once before
- by Kenny Williams, the St. Louis Browns outfielder, in 1922. Williams
also led the American League in RBI that season with 155.
